No. J is an entry into luxury brand that blends elegance and edge with a touch of Eastern culture, a nod to the designer's roots. Its style is street chic with edgy silhouettes and details that emphasize the movement of the body. No. J takes the grit of the street and translate it into reimagined apparel dreams.
At the beginning of my collaboration with Jane Wu, No. J's founder & designer, she already had a website and some branding and promotional materials. My task was to design a fabulous lookbook that can reinforce No. J's brand identity and help No. J attract new investors and sponsors. In order to achieve this goal, first of all, I tried to clearly define the Target Audience that my lookbook aims to appeal to:
-
Young people who follow trends and are into fashion
-
White-collar people who can afford entry-luxury brands
-
Fashion influencers and celebrities
Then, I listed out a series of Brand Keywords that I want my lookbook and graphic design to demonstrate to my target audience:
The next step is to design a consistent and edgy Color Palette. Color is very important in branding and marketing because it is where first impressions of customers are based. Also, a good color scheme is the secret in producing a good identity for a company.

After the above preparation had been done, I started to work on the real design of the lookbook using tools like Photoshop, Canva Pro and InDesign. Strictly adhering to the rules of simplicity and minimalism, I tried to compose orderly yet elegant shapes and structures to convey the brand's modern, stylish, classy but edgy image.
See below for the thumbnail overview of the completed lookbook.
