From distinguished Hollywood executives to the countless below-the-line crew, Behind the Spotlight (BTS) provides an in-depth profile of Hollywood's true masters. Each episode reveals the ins and outs of one glamorous expertise in Hollywood’s film industry, through which a comprehensive exploration of the art and craft of filmmaking is presented in a documentary style. Covering Hollywood’s most venerable individuals and institutes in various fields behind the scenes, including film producing, music scoring, prop houses, high tech CGI companies, and many more, BTS invites top film professionals to share their exclusive stories and career knowledge with the audience.

The previous 5 seasons of Behind the Spotlight were created specifically for the Chinese market and have been successfully aired on some major TV channels such as CCTV6 - the most influential movie channel in China with around 900 million monthly viewers - and East Movie Channel - a local film channel of Shanghai with a total viewership of around 16 million people. The show is also well-received on the two largest online streaming platforms in China: iQiyi and Tencent.
Although the previous seasons are more focused on one-on-one interviews with guests from the film industry, the new version of the show focuses more on documenting the process of filmmaking and craft-making behind-the-scenes.
